Project Details

Cypress College’s production of Hello, Dolly! brought Broadway’s iconic musical comedy to life with vibrant spectacle and classic charm. My lighting design supported the sweeping dance numbers, intimate character moments, and the show’s larger-than-life energy, balancing saturated color with crisp highlights to frame the lush scenic design and period costumes.

As the faculty lighting designer for this production, I was responsible for the overall design concept, execution, and programming. Working with a student crew, I oversaw the hang and focus of all lighting equipment and guided them through the technical process. In addition, I mentored a team of student assistant designers, giving them the opportunity to take on specific scenes and sequences. This allowed them to gain hands-on experience in both design and console programming while contributing directly to the production.
